Wireless communication technology is always playing an important role with the development of human society for information exchange. Nowadays life depend extremely on radio communication system: FM radio, digital television, mobile network, Wi-Fi system… Therefore, developing reliable, low-cost and multi-functional wireless communication system becomes a key issue today. With development of IT industry and especially in semi-conductor, chip fabrication technologies, implementing modern telecommunication solution on software level rather than hardware leading toward the software-defined radio architecture.
Objective of this project is to implement wireless communication system both on analog and digital level. Through this project, capability and flexibility that soft-ware defined radio can provide with the general purpose processor and transceiver module will be explored. Different applications are implemented by using different modulation technologies from analog signal to digital signal and from FM modulation to OFDM. Applications are developed based on the hardware of FPGA of ZED Board, the transceiver module of Analog Devices AD-FMCOMMS4-EBZ board as well as the software level support of GNU Radio, an open source platform toolkit for SDR developing purpose.
