The aim of this project is to implement a 3D facial recognition on the already existing
home automation system. Here are the criteria for the facial recognition:
• It should detect and recognize a face
• It must be able to recognize multiple users
• It should not be tricked with a picture of the known users
• It must recognize the face very quickly
These criteria are specific to the facial recognition program. In addition to that, it will be
connected to the home automation system so extra considerations need to be taken in
account: the system must be user-friendly and low-consumer.
In order to achieve that, we added two requirements for the project:
• The user must be notified whenever an intruder tries to get recognized by the
facial recognition.
• A snapshot must be taken and stored in the database whenever a face is not
recognized by the facial recognition program.
