The aim of this project is to produce an automated irrigation system, starting with a small, home model, with hopes for it to evolve into a greenhouse-sized automated system. The primary functionality of the system is to routinely water, provide UV rays, and monitor the health of plants (at home or in a greenhouse) using smart technology and schedules. A cloud-based server will maintain set schedules that will determine when the system is to be on or off and for how long. This will be managed by a user-friendly app on desktop with plans for a possible mobile version in the future. In the long term we hope to pave the way for large-scale use of this system by attempting to build a simple, small-scale representation of what an automated greenhouse would look like.
