Automated Cat Feeder

As a pet owner, one of the biggest responsibilities is making sure your cat is well cared for and fed. Oftentimes however, owners may find themselves having to spend time out of the house, away from their beloved cat, and unable to feed them at the usual time. As a precaution, the owner may give their cat extra food in advance, but this is a temporary solution and may lead to the cat’s health problems down the line caused by overfeeding. Our idea is to construct and design an automated cat feeder that will allow the user to schedule autonomous feedings via an app. The user can provide their cat with the right amount of food at the designated feeding times. This will relieve the owner of the stress of not being present to feed their cat and overfeed them. This feeder also includes a camera and laser module so the user can both check in on and entertain their cat. This gives owners the ability to play with their cat remotely, in addition to ensuring they’re fed. In the future, we want to implement advanced features into the app, such as the user to be able to view the current feeder status, the times of previous feedings, sign in security, and to design and create a proper enclosure.
