Countries worldwide have been trying to battle the coronavirus pandemic for over a year now. This highly infectious disease spreads quicker than it can be treated. Medical professionals are working overtime to keep up with the overflowing hospitals. Because of this, only severe cases of the coronavirus are encouraged to seek medical attention in person. It can become difficult for those who test positive to identify if they require medical attention or not. This paper proposes a COVID-19 Home Isolation Symptom Monitoring System designed for patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are isolating at home. This system monitors the patient’s body temperature and blood oxygen saturation levels. If a temperature less than 95°F or above 102°F or a SPO2 level below 95% is detected, an alert is sent to the patient’s primary care doctor. The results are stored in a Thingspeak Channel, and an android application is used to view the data on the patient’s side. The functionality of the overall system is tested using four different test cases: normal, low body temperature, high body temperature, and low SPO2. The system shows promising results towards helping minimize unnecessary contact while positive for the virus while still ensuring the patient receives proper medical care when necessary.
