In recent years, wildfires have become more frequent and more dangerous, driven by rising global temperatures, prolonged droughts, and stronger wind patterns. As a result, traditional fire detection methods—such as fire watchtowers—are no longer fast or scalable enough to meet the growing threat. The Wild F.I.R.E. Sentry is our proposed solution to this problem: a connected wildfire intelligence and risk evaluation system designed to detect wildfires earlier and more effectively than current systems allow. Our design incorporates a network of environmental sensors and cameras that serve as the “eyes” and “noses” of the system, continuously monitoring for early signs of fire. Alerts generated by AI-based algorithms are relayed through a real-time dashboard with automated messaging and live geographic tracking. To support future growth, the system is built with scalability in mind, making it easy to deploy across vast landscapes. With this project, we aim to reduce wildfire response time, protect at-risk communities, and preserve natural resources.
