Focused on occupational hearing safety, Decibel IQ is a compact clip-on wearable that monitors cumulative noise exposure throughout a work shift and alerts users before hazardous exposure levels are reached. The system uses an ESP32-S3, I2S MEMS microphone, A-weighting digital filtering, SPL/LAeq calculation, and cumulative dose tracking to estimate real-time hearing risk. A tri-color LED and vibration motor provide immediate on-device alerts, while a Bluetooth Android app and Firebase interface support visualization, logging, and supplementary exposure information. The prototype demonstrates an affordable, offline-capable personal noise monitoring platform designed to encourage timely hearing protection and reduce long-term workplace hearing damage.
