Lot Protector: Automated Solution to Tracking Parking Violations in Accessibility Parking Spaces

The most important issues facing disabled parking today are accessibility to and unauthorized usage of designated spaces. Studies show that handicapped parking misusage is rampant, and over 75% of people have personally witnessed a disabled parking space violation. To make matters worse, enforcement of laws to combat these disabled parking abuses remains challenging due to a multitude of factors relating to detection. Most concerning, many violations go unreported and unaddressed. In response, Lot Protector endeavors to tackle this pressing issue in parking management by creating an automated solution for tracking parking violations in accessibility spaces. Handicapped users parking in a handicapped spot only have to scan a QR code at the parking spot to verify their authorized usage, whilst invalid drivers will be caught in the system and reported on the web-interface to authorities.
