Driver inattention, a leading factor in vehicular accidents, often arises from excessive visual clutter, overcomplicated interfaces, and mobile device distractions. To address this issue, we present Nav-HUD, an intelligent navigational display system designed to enhance driver focus by delivering essential route guidance and media information via a minimalistic Heads-Up Display (HUD). By projecting key navigation data directly into the driver’s field of view, Nav-HUD reduces the need for eye movement away from the road. The system seamlessly integrates with mobile devices via Bluetooth, provides media control functionality, and operates independently for navigation. Through simulation and real-world testing, Nav-HUD aims to reduce accident risk and set a standard for safer, more intuitive in-vehicle navigation.
